Who should undergo the current D.El.Ed course through NIOS?


1. Primary Level Teachers who have passed Class XII with 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PH) or above marks in Class XII but not done D.El.Ed Course. 
(If the teachers do not have requisite percentage marks in Class XII, they have to simultaneously register with NIOS for improving the percentage marks.)

2. Primary Level Teachers who have passed Class X and not done D.El.Ed Course.
(Such teachers should simultaneously register for undergoing Class XII Course through NIOS.)

3. Primary Level Teachers who have done B.Ed but not undergone D.El.Ed.
(If a teacher is Graduate, and has less than 50% (or 45% after applicable relaxation), still, the improvement in Class 12 is applicable.)

4. Pre-Primary Teachers/ School Mothers who have been promoted to primary teachers on or after 3rd September 2001 and not done D.El.Ed Course.

5. Primary Level Teachers who have done 1-year TTI/D.El.Ed Course.

6. Primary Teachers who have done six months CPE Course.

7. Primary Teachers who were promoted to Graduate Teachers on or after 3rd September 2001 and have not done D.El.Ed or B.Ed (However, B.Ed is compulsory as per the State Government rules for Graduate Teachers).

8. Graduate Teachers who have not done 2 years D.El.Ed or B.Ed Course.

10. Teachers appointed before 3rd September 2001 need not undergo this programme. Teachers appointed on 3rd September 2001 and afterwards MUST undergo this programme. 

11. Date of joining a post is deemed to be the date of appointment and date of promotion. Hence, if a teacher is promoted as Primary Teacher or Graduate Teacher before 3rd September 2001 BUT joined the duty on the promoted capacity on or after 3rd September 2001, MUST undergo this course.
